Do you have a vision to change the world?

To celebrate the centenary of the Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust (JRCT), the organisation has set up a new scheme to find 'six visionaries', who can work towards making 'the world - or part of it - more just and more peaceful'

The 'Visionaries for a Just and Peaceful World' will need to have a 'big idea' that addresses JRCT's key themes of Peace and Justice. Their vision can encompass the whole world or a specific part of it. Most importantly they must have the determination to transfer their idea into action.

Visionaries will need to have most of following qualities:

A 'vision' of how the world or their corner of it can become more just, more peaceful
Be able to back this up with a strategy and a plan - aims, objectives, tasks
Have leadership qualities
Be able to resource the idea through to reality and to a demonstrable, measurable result
Be creative, inspiring and also a sustainer
Have a track record of success in making projects work

The six successful applicants will be paid for five years in order to achieve their vision.

If you, or someone you know, is a potential 'visionary', download an application pack from the Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust Visionaries website. Applications are however restricted to people who are over 21 and normally resident in Great Britain or Ireland.
