Manchester: Day against destitution, detention and deportation
15 April 2006
As part of international actions against immigration detention during April, there will be a day against destitution, detention and deportation in Manchester.
Saturday 15 April 2006, from 12noon
- HMP Strangeways, 1 Southall Street, Manchester M60 9AH
There will be a march from HMP Strangeways, where about 20 immigration detainees are held, then to the British Airways travel shop, to the registry office, immigration offices in Piccadilly, via China Town and finally a rally in the Peace Gardens.
This demonstration is being supported by Farhat Khan & Family Campaign, Women Asylum Seekers Together, No Borders Manchester, Defend Eucharia & Timeyi Campaign, Manchester Committee to Defend Asylum Seekers, Ashraf Family Must Stay Campaign, United Community Association for Libyan Refugees, Ziadah & Sharif Must Stay Campaign, Olive & Her Children Must Survive Campaign and the Samina Altaf Will Stay Campaign.
