Cemetery desecrations

By Liz Fekete

1 June 1995

There have been two reported desecrations of cemetaries in Bulgaria in April.

Anti-Semitic slogans and swastikas were sprayed on the walls of a synogogue and a Jewish primary school in Sofia. A Russian military cemetery in the Danube part of Rousse was also desecrated. The attacks roughly coincided with 20 April, the anniversary of Hitler's birthday.
