Constitutional change to stop illegal movement into Germany

By Liz Fekete

1 April 1995

The changes, brought into effect after pressure from Germany, comes after several cases whereby those arrested for attempting to illegally cross the border were released from custody after 48 hours only to attempt to cross the border again.
