Albanian footballers seek asylum

Seven players and a coach from Albania's national football team sought asylum on arrival in Madrid from the southern Spanish city of Granada where they had played two World Cup qualifying games.

Believed to belong to the Albanian under-21 side, the eight have been granted permission to stay while their asylum claim is considered.
