No residence permits for Kurds from northern Iraq

While the authorities would like to deport Kurds from northern Iraq, it is practically impossible to do so.

Instead, the government plans to stop this group receiving residence permits so as to make their stay in Sweden as unpleasant as possible. It has also reached an agreement with the International Organisation for Migration to arrange journeys back to Iraq, via Turkey.
