Restrictions of marriages proposed

The government is to introduce legislation to remove exemptions to the lower age limit on marriages, previously given to immigrants from countries in which marriages are legal below the age of 18.

The justice ministry says the change is necessary to improve the situation of young women living in 'patriarchal families'.
