Kurdish trade unionist wins damages

A Kurdish refugee and trade union branch secretary has been awarded £13000 in damages and legal costs against the Metropolitan Police for assault, false imprisonment and malicious prosecution.

Tekin Kartal had been arrested after a strike outside a textile factory in Stoke Newington.
