Scope: This series contains two files. The first comprises documents from the Black People: The Way Forward conference in January 1975 and subsequent Post-Conference Constituent Committee (PCCC) and PCCC conference in July 1976, at which the National Black People's Organisation was founded. Documents in this file include a constitution, membership list, correspondence and conference papers.

The second file is an original research file by Danny Reilly of the Institute of Race Relations, about black people standing for election at council, local and national government level. It mainly comprises newspaper articles, but also two letters and a Greater London Labour Party press release.
