A police officer accused of making false statements about UAF campaigner Alan Clough regarding a 2010 anti-EDL demonstration has walked free from court.
An inspection by the Human Tissue Authority, following the mix-up over the body of Christopher Alder who died in police custody, has found areas of concern.
Two men who racially attacked and injured a Muslim man on the tube last year have been given six month prison sentences, suspended for 18 months. The men have also been banned from EDL demonstrations.
In Scotland, a 321 per cent increase in religiously aggravated offences directed against Islam, from 19 in 2011/12 to 80 in 2012/13, has been linked to the Scottish Defence League, with 57 incidents occurring at one of its demonstrations.
